The European Challenge Tour today announced the cancellation of the 2021 Hainan Open and Foshan Open due to the ongoing effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The decision was taken in conjunction with the China Golf Association and the respective promoters.
The Hainan Open was first played in 2016 and was due to take place from October 14-17, while the Foshan Open, which has been part of the Challenge Tour’s schedule since 2013, was scheduled for the following week, October 21-24.
Both tournaments have extended their agreements with the Challenge Tour by one additional year and will return to the Road to Mallorca International Schedule in 2022.
