Challenge Tour returns to Golf Club Adamstal

The Euram Bank Open will once again be played at the stunning Golf Club Adamstal, which received glowing reviews in 2018 when it hosted the tournament’s first edition.

Last year, in the newly formed Euram Bank Open, Darius van Driel came through a bunched leaderboard to secure his first victory on Europe’s top developmental circuit.

A 71st hole birdie, and a gutsy up and down on the closing par three earned the Dutchman a narrow victory over eventual Challenge Tour Number One Joachim B. Hansen, future European Tour winner David Law and graduate Sean Crocker.

Returning to Ramsau, Austria, the second Euram Bank Open will mark the halfway point in the season when it runs from July 18-21.

Set in the hills of Austria’s alpine foreland, the severely undulating Golf Club Adamstal previously hosted the European Challenge Tour for three years from 2006- 2008. In 2006, former Ryder Cup player and three time European Tour winner Rafa Cabrera Bello secured a life-changing victory – his first as a professional.

The Spaniard, known for his fitness, was sure to have been a favourite on the physically demanding layout. The first hole sits at the low-point on the mountainous track, while the 18th hole very nearly sits at the golf course’s highest point. Players can often be seen taking in the serene views while catching their breath in between shots.
