Challenge de España celebrates 20 years on the Challenge Tour

The Challenge de España will celebrate its 20th anniversary when the European Challenge Tour returns to Spain from May 2-5.

Izki Golf Club

One of the longest running events on the Challenge Tour International Schedule, the event will be the first of three Iberian tournaments taking place in 2019, including a further visit to Spain in June before Europe's top developmental tour arrives in Portugal in September.

The Challenge de España first appeared on the Challenge Tour in 1999 and will once again head to Izki Golf for the third consecutive season, having previously hosted the event in 2002 and 2003.

Oscar Lengden clinched the title by four strokes last year ahead of Wil Besseling and Ross McGowan after carding four successive sub-70 rounds.

Nicolo Ravano made the headlines at the 2016 Challenge de España when he became the second player in Challenge Tour history to card a round of 59 at Tecina Golf.
