Campillo eyeing maiden European Tour title

Jorge Campillo is hopeful his maiden European Tour win is just around the corner after recording three top three finishes in March.

The Spaniard heads into this week's Trophée Hassan II in sparkling form, having finished in a tie for second at the Oman Open and Commercial Bank Qatar Masters at the beginning of last month prior to coming third at the Hero Indian Open in his last outing before a recent three week break.

Campillo, who also came close to breaking his duck on several occasions last season, wants to turn near-misses into an elusive first victory.

"It's taken me a while but I think I'm playing good," said Campillo. "Hopefully I'll get lucky enough one week to win.

"I was playing well in the first part of the year, I wasn't making any putts, but in March I putted good and played really solid so I'm quite happy about the last month."

Campillo is a fan of this week's host course at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam.

He added: "It's a great golf course. The last venue was great and this one is great as well.

"It's nice to come here and play these nice golf courses."
