Campillo has finished second three times since graduating from the Challenge Tour in 2011 but is looking for his first European Tour victory after holding his first 54-hole lead.

The Spaniard played his first four holes in two under to get to 17 under and lead the way from American Berry Henson.

Fellow overnight leader Dylan Frittelli was then in a group at 15 under alongside Ryan Fox, Khalin H Joshi, and Shubhankar Sharma.

The first had been gettable all week and a host of the leading contenders picked up shots there, with Thai Prayad Marksaeng moving to 14 under and Indian Joshi getting to 15 under.

When the final group got started, South African Frittelli had to settle for a par with Henson making birdie but Campillo recorded an eagle for the second day in a row after an approach to four feet and he led by two shots.

Joshi gave his shot back on the second but birdied the third and was  joined two off the lead by New Zealander Fox, who made back-to-back birdies on the fifth and sixth after eagling the first and bogeying the second.

Joburg Open champion Sharma made four birdies in a row from the fourth to get within two of the lead before Henson jumped out of that group with a putt up the hill on the third.

French trio Benjamin Hebert, Mike Lorenzo-Vera and Romain Wattel, Japanese pair Ryo Ishikawa and Hideto Tanihara, Thai Phachara Khongwatmai, German Maximilian Kieffer, Spaniard Pablo Larrazábal and England's Lee Westwood were then 14 under.
