Cabrera Bello and Hatton join Sharma out in front

Race to Dubai leader Shubhankar Sharma was swiftly joined at the top of the WGC – Mexico Championship leaderboard by fellow European Tour stars Rafa Cabrera Bello and Tyrrell Hatton as the final round began at Chapultepec Golf Club.

Sharma, who as already claimed two European Tour titles this season, had become the youngest player to lead a WGC event after the second and third rounds at 21, but saw his two-shot lead wiped out before he even teed off on Sunday.

Spain's Cabrera Bello chipped in from a bunker on the opening hole for eagle to join Sharma on 13 under, and England's Hatton made it a three-way tie at the top when he birdied the second.

Sharma was five under for the week on the driveable first, but three-putted for par and remained level par through four holes.

Cabrera Bello and Hatton, who had birdied the first, were two under for the day, with the three players a shot ahead of Spain's Sergio Garcia and American pair Phil Mickelson and Justin Thomas.

Thomas had been 11 shots off the lead at the halfway stage, but after a blistering 62 on Saturday was three under through seven, while Mickelson birdied the first two holes but then uncharacteristically three-putted the short third.
