British Masters supported by Sky Sports day three - What they said

Robert Karlsson moved to 12 under to hold a 54-hole lead for the first time since 2008 at the British Masters supported by Sky Sports.

Rory McIlroy

Here, we take a look at what some of the chasing pack had to say heading into the final round.

Rory McIlroy (64, -10)

"I felt today I did get the most out of it. I scrambled well when I needed to. Some of these sort of three and four-footers that you leave yourself on these greens are pretty tricky. It was nice. I gave myself plenty of chances, I made some. The course lets you be a little more aggressive today. The tee is moved up on nine, you can reach the green on 17, you've got the two par fives which are reachable and it is so soft out there. If you hit good shots you're going to be rewarded and you're going to leave yourself with a lot of birdie chances. At least I put myself in the position today where if I do hole those putts tomorrow, it might mean something, so that's nice. 64 was good. I think I'll need something similar tomorrow if I want to have a chance but it was good to see a low one. I haven't shot a low score like that in a while, so it was nice to see. At least know that if I shoot a good one tomorrow I might have a good chance to win."

Ian Poulter (68, -11)

"I've come here this week to do a number of things. One is to get back in the top 50 and two is to win this golf tournament. I'm now in position going into Sunday I realistically have to feel I'm in with a shout. Just one back at the minute. So don't make mistakes tomorrow and, if you do, obviously don't make them expensive ones and keep doing what I'm doing. I'm hitting a lot of decent shots. My short game is pretty good, I'm putting it in play. I need to play better tomorrow than I did today, that's for sure. I'm going to go to the range just now and work on it for maybe an hour, get rid of the frustration. Come out tomorrow feeling somewhat refreshed and hopefully I can be aggressive to those targets out there tomorrow. Hopefully I can hold a trophy and get back in the top 50. Be lovely."

Tyrrell Hatton (71, -11)

"I would say it was a very frustrating day. I didn't actually play too badly. I had so many awkward numbers when you're right in between clubs, sometimes it's hard to get close to the hole. It's even more of a frustrating finish over the last sort of four or five holes. I didn't really do anything wrong to make bogey on 15, just a bad lie in the rough. Thought I hit a good chip and a good putt and lipped-out. I didn't hole any putts today. I found it really difficult.  Hopefully I'll get a bit of luck tomorrow, I feel like I didn't get anything today so it's just one of those days unfortunately. I'm certainly not out of the tournament so it's not the end of the world."

Graeme Storm (76, -11)

"It was great. A little bit disappointing from, I think it was 12, where I missed quite a short one and went on to miss another short one and another one. It was kind of about just keeping my composure towards the end of the round and giving myself a couple chances which is what I did. There's lots of people out there that I know. There's lots of people I don't know. I seem to have got the name "Stormsy" now. I thought it was a singer, but there you go, that's what they seem to be calling me out there, but I don't mind."

Paul Dunne (65, -11)

"It was good. I got off to a nice start, birdied three of the first four, got me off on the right foot and from there I played pretty solid. I just didn't make many of my chances I gave on the back nine. Airmailed the green with a wedge on 12 for a bogey but apart from that I was giving myself chances most of the way around, missed a few of them. Birdied 17 which is nice in the rain on the way in but, all in all, it was pretty easy, could have been a few lower but hopefully I'll save that for tomorrow. To have a chance to win you're going to be at least 15 or 16 under so I have to shoot four or five under minimum. To shoot that, you have to attack."

Richie Ramsay (65, -11)

"It was good, very steady. Just holed a lovely putt on eight and then hit three wood on the ninth and rolled that in which was a great bonus to make eagle there. Then very steady on the back nine. A couple of nice two putts just to make some pars coming in and sort of right in the mix. Great field and great event. Just looking forward to tomorrow. I've just been there or thereabouts for a long, long time and I feel that getting in the mix tomorrow, back nine Sunday, I just love it. Pressure is just brilliant. Put me in that position, it's the best place you can be - all the practice and come down the stretch under the pressure with a great field and also a great turnout. I can't wait for it."
