Fans favourite Andrew ‘Beef’ Johnston will be part of the star-studded line up for the British Masters supported by Sky Sports, which will be held at Close House in Northumberland, England, from September 28-October 1.
The 28 year old Englishman joins tournament host Lee Westwood, Masters Champion Sergio Garcia and World Number 11 Alex Noren in the field for the tournament, which has also become a firm favourite among the golfing public over the past two years.

Beef, who won his maiden European Tour title in the Real Club Valderrama Open de España hosted by the Sergio Garcia Foundation last year, has finished inside the top 30 in his two previous British Masters appearances in 2015 and 2016, and will be a popular addition to the line-up among fans in the north east of England.

“I’m really looking forward to playing in front of the British fans again,” said Beef. “I think it will be great taking the event to the north east. The fans really love their sport in Newcastle and hopefully they really get behind us and make some noise.
“The British Masters has been a great tournament for the fans since it came back on the schedule a couple of years ago. Things like the masterclasses, the Hero Challenge and all the innovations really get the fans involved in the tournament and the players really enjoy them too.
“I’ve been playing pretty well this summer so hopefully I can play well in it. I had good weeks at Wentworth, France, Scotland and The Open, so hopefully it will all come together soon and I can compete for another title. If that happened on home soil at the British Masters it would be pretty special.”
