Brilliant Brooks does it again

Brooks Koepka successfully defended his US PGA Championship at Bethpage State Park BK Course on Sunday, lifting his fourth Major Championship since 2017, becoming the first player to win both the US PGA Championship and U.S. Open Championship back-to-back. Four ­– Challenge Tour wins during his two seasons on the Challenge Tour in 2012 and 2013. His first win came at the 2012 Challenge de Catalunya before he started the 2013 campaign by winning the Montecchia Golf Open presented by POLAROID.

Just three events later, the American clinched his second win of the season at the Fred Olsen Challenge de España, recording the lowest winning score in his professional career – 24 under par for a 260 total.

His third win of 2013, which secured immediate promotion to the European Tour under the three-win rule, came at the Scottish Hydro Challenge hosted by Macdonald Hotels and Resorts.

20 – events was all it took for Koepka to leave a storied legacy on the Challenge Tour. In those 20 events he recorded ten top ten finishes, including six top fives and four wins.

Four – Major triumphs, matching his number of victories on the Challenge Tour. His success at Bethpage Black saw him successfully defend the Major he clinched in 2018. He won his first Major, the U.S. Open Championship, in 2017 before repeating the feat 12 months later at Shinnecock Hills in 2018.

11 – Major Championship wins for Challenge Tour alumni following Koepka’s wonderful week in New York. He is one of seven players to have progressed from the Challenge Tour to the winner’s circle at a Major.

464 – wins for Challenge Tour alumni on the European Tour after Koepka's triumph which was followed by victories from fellow former Challenge Tour players Bernd Wiesberger at the Made in Denmark presented by FREJA and Guido Migliozzi at the Belgian Knockout.
