Breaking down Rory McIlroy's 2024 Race to Dubai by the numbers

Rory McIlroy finished his 2024 season in style by winning the Race to Dubai for a sixth time and third year in a row.

Prior to the season finale, he graded his campaign on both sides of the Atlantic as a "pass" as he said missing out on ending his decade-long wait for a fifth Major Championship at the U.S. Open earlier in the year was still the source of regret.

Despite that, he was once again the dominant force on the DP World Tour and here, we take a closer look at some of his key stats and figures:

McIlroy matched Seve Ballesteros’ haul of six Race to Dubai, formerly known as Order of Merit, titles

He moves to within two of the record held by Colin Montgomerie

Across his 12 starts on the 2024 Race to Dubai, he won twice and registered six further top tens

Among those were four runner-up finishes, with only Thriston Lawrence (five) registering more

His victory at the season-ending DP World Tour Championship was his 18th on the DP World Tour, with him now tied 12th for most wins alongside Mark James and Sandy Lyle

He was one of five players to win multiple DP World Tour titles across the campaign, alongside fellow two-time winners Dean Burmester, Louis Oosthuizen, Xander Schauffele and Scottie Scheffler

He has now won four Rolex Series titles, moving him level with Tyrrell Hatton for second most, one behind Jon Rahm

He overturned a ten-shot deficit at the halfway stage to win the Hero Dubai Classic, with no player making up more shots from the same stage across the season

He missed just one cut, with that coming in The Open at Royal Troon

Across his 46 counting rounds on the 2024 Race to Dubai, excluding the Olympic Games, he shot 42 under par rounds

He matched his career-low round in his first round of the campaign, carding a bogey-free nine under 62 at the Dubai Invitational

He ranked first across the DP World Tour for birdies per round, with an average of 4.8

He ended the campaign with a driving average of 328.71 yards, 27 more than the field average on Tour as he again ranked best of the bunch

His longest drive of the season came during the third round of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship when he struck his tee shot 389 yards at the par four 12th
