The BMW PGA Championship will today join in the national efforts to take part in the NHS Covid-19 vaccination programme.
Staff, visitors and the general public will be able to get their Covid-19 vaccine by dropping into their pop-up clinic, located in front of the main entrance.
The site will be offering the Pfizer vaccine in line with the latest updated JCVI guidance and is open from 12pm to 6pm from September 8-12.
NHS staff and volunteers will be able to offer a first jab to any person over 16 who has not yet taken up the offer or give a second vaccination to those who have waited for eight weeks after their first jab. Following the vaccination, patients will be asked to wait for 15 minutes after their jab before leaving the clinic.
Dr Charlotte Canniff, Clinical Chair, Surrey Heartlands CCG said: “The location of the clinic at Wentworth provides another great option for those who are interested in the NHS ‘evergreen offer’ in getting their first vaccine, or for those ready to follow up with a second jab. Everyone aged 16 or over is now eligible for their lifesaving Covid-19 vaccination, forming part of the solution as the NHS’s efforts help the country to get back to normal. If you are attending the championship, working at the venue or simply passing by, the clinicians are ready and waiting so you can be part of the solution in helping to get the country back to normal whilst protecting yourself and your loves ones.”
Since the beginning of the NHS Covid-19 Vaccination Programme, more than two thirds of all adults have had both doses and are now fully vaccinated against coronavirus.
Patients who attend a walk-in clinic for their first dose will have their NHS vaccination record updated online, they will then be able to book their second dose appointment using the national booking system.
