GENERAL TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

WHAT ARE THE SITE OPENING TIMES AT WENTWORTH FOR SPECTATORS DURING THE TOURNAMENT?

Gate opening times are:

Tuesday 17th September: 08:00

Wednesday 18th September: 07:00

Thursday 19th September: 06:30

Friday 20th September: 06:30

Saturday 21st September: 07:00

Sunday 22nd September: 07:00

Gates will close as the last shuttle bus leaves. Please see below our shuttle bus timetable.

WHAT IS THE TOURNAMENT FORMAT?

The tournament will be a 72-hole stroke play event.

The field will play one round on each of the first two days, after which the leading 65 players (and those who tie for 65th place) will go forward to the third and fourth rounds.

In the event of a tie for the first place, there will be a hole-by-hole play-off.

WHAT IS THE TOURNAMENT PRIZE FUND?

USD 9,000,000

WHEN IS THE G4D (GOLF FOR THE DISABLED) TOURNAMENT?

The G4D tournament will take place on Monday 16 September and Tuesday 17 September.

WILL THERE BE A PRACTICE DAY

The official DP World Tour practice day is Tuesday 17th September and is open to the public with Practice Day tickets.

WHERE ARE THE PRACTICE FACILITIES AT THE TOURNAMENT LOCATED?

The practice range for the Championship will be located beside the Clubhouse.

Putting green is adjacent to the 1st Tee, beside the Practice Range and behind the Clubhouse. The short game area for pitching and bunker play is located behind the Clubhouse.

WHAT DAY IS THE PRO-AM?

The BMW PGA Championship Celebrity Pro-Am will take place on Wednesday 18 September.

EVENT TRAVEL AND ACCESSIBILITY

IS THERE DISABLED PARKING?

There will be dedicated parking spaces at the front of the Park & Ride car park for spectators who have a blue badge displayed in their vehicles. All our buses are accessible buses and will drop off at the entrance to the event, and in the same area as Event Mobility.

All blue Badge holders must email tickets@europeantourgroup.com with the relevant documentation to secure a spot.

ARE WHEELCHAIRS ALLOWED ON-SITE?

Yes, wheelchairs and motorised chairs are permitted, however, we encourage you to use our on-site Event Mobility service, should you require them. Event Mobility will be providing a number of electric scooters (£35) and manual wheelchairs (£15) for hire by the elderly or disabled. You can book your scooter online at www.eventmobility.org.uk.

EVENT FACILITIES

WILL THERE BE A FIRST AID TEAM ON-SITE?

Yes, a full medical and first aid team will be available at all times when the site is open.

ARE THERE PUBLIC TOILETS ACCESSIBLE AROUND THE COURSE?

Yes, there are plenty of public toilet facilities situated around the course and in the Championship Village.

ARE THERE WATER REFILL FACILITIES AVAILABLE ON-SITE?

There are plenty of refill stations on site, please bring a reusable water bottle.

WILL THERE BE WI-FI AVAILABLE ON-SITE?

Free public Wi-Fi is available for visitors across the BMW PGA Championship site.

WILL THERE BE AN INFORMATION DESK AT THE TOURNAMENT?

Yes, there will be an information tent located in the Championship Village.

HOW CAN I ACCESS EVENT INFORMATION WHILST AT THE TOURNAMENT?

The BMW PGA Championship information is available here. It is also available via the DP World Tour Event Information QR code on site. It is where you will find all the tournament information and updates, including the daily draws, course map, full event schedule and entertainment. Additional information will be added as soon as it is confirmed.

ARE THERE GRANDSTANDS AT THE TOURNAMENT?

Yes, there is an allocation of free spectator seating within the grandstands, at the first tee, 14th green and 18th green.

ARE THERE ANY DEDICATED WHEELCHAIR VIEWING AREAS LOCATED ON-SITE?

A dedicated wheelchair viewing area will be positioned at the front of the 18th grandstand, back right of the green, and beside the 1st tee.

IS THERE A LOST PROPERTY AREA ON-SITE?

Yes, the lost property location is at the Information Centre in the Championship Village.

WHAT IS THE MOBILE PHONE POLICY ON-SITE?

The use of mobile phones is permitted but restricted to dedicated areas only, where event signage will refer to them as “mobile phone zones”. Only in these dedicated areas can calls be made or received, however phones must always remain on silent.

ARE THERE MOBILE PHONE CHARGING FACILITIES ON-SITE?

A wide range of Official 2024 BMW PGA Championship event merchandise will be on sale at the Official Event merchandise store, which is located within the Championship Village and online at the official DP World Tour Merchandise website: www.shop.europeantourgroup.com

IS CASH ACCEPTED ON-SITE?

No, this is a cashless event, contactless payments only.

IS THERE A CHARITY FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP?

Yes, there will be an official BMW 2024 Championship charity, and this will be announced shortly. The charity will have an exhibition unit in the championship village. Spectators will have the chance to participate in various activities and 100% of donations will go to the tournament charities.

CAN I BRING MY OWN FOOD?

Individuals with dietary requirements may bring food for their own personal consumption but no picnics or hampers are allowed. Alcoholic beverages are also not permitted to be brought into the venue.

CAN I BRING A BAG ON-SITE?

Bags and rucksacks are permitted at the Championship. Bag Drop is located at the entrance Welcome tent. For your safety, security bag searches will be in operation on entry. At bag search, there will be a fast track lane for those that do not bring a bag.

ARE DOGS ALLOWED AT THE TOURNAMENT?

No dogs are permitted on-site unless they are assistance dogs.

IS THERE A DRESS CODE FOR THE TOURNAMENT?

It would be recommended to wear casual golf wear. Appropriate footwear is advised as the ground may be uneven in places. Please check the weather forecast before you set off on your journey and remember to bring sunscreen if required.

IS THERE ANY ADDITIONAL ENTERTAINMENT HAPPENING DURING THE EVENT WEEK?

Yes, we will publish our schedule of events and entertainment for the week when they have been confirmed.

SPECTATOR'S ETIQUETTE

  • Remain still for each shot and do not move until all players in the group have played or holed out.
  • Kneel or sit down if you are in the front row. Consider other spectators when using an umbrella.
  • Do not speak to the players while they are on the course.
  • Please keep behind the ropes and barriers on the course and use the official crossing points.
  • Walk, don’t run, and obey the course marshals – they are trying to make your day more enjoyable.
  • There is no dress code in public areas.
  • Dress accordingly for the weather conditions. Sensible shoes should be worn. No metal spikes are allowed.
  • Please listen to any public address announcements and follow instructions from officials and volunteers should they be necessary.

COURSE

Spectators can move freely around the golf course but please stay outside the ropes. Controlled crossing points, which are clearly marked by signposts and manned by course Marshals, should be used when crossing fairways.

COURSE SHUTTLE BUS

The Championship provides an internal shuttle bus loop, which allows spectators to move around the course with ease. There are pick-up/drop-off points around the course, and they are situated as follows:

  • Stop 1 – Adjacent to 18th Green.
  • Stop 2 – Adjacent to 17th Fairway Refreshment area.
  • Stop 3 – Adjacent to 4th Fairway.
  • Stop 4 – Adjacent to 14th Green/15th Tee.
  • Stop 5 – Adjacent to 5th Green.

All of the above Bus Stops will be signposted. The course shuttle runs on a continuous loop and the frequency is therefore approximate.
