Cam Smith and Elvis Smylie lead the way, par-three holes were under threat and Todd Sinnott has contender for birdie of the year.
Everything you need to know from Saturday's delayed second round in Brisbane.
Smith and Smylie lead Australian logjam
Cam Smith carded one of the lowest rounds of the second day to earn a share of the lead alongside Elvis Smylie on an Australian dominated leaderboard at Royal Queensland Golf Club. Play was abandoned on Friday following almost 250mm of rainfall in seven days, with the tournament reduced to 54 holes as a result. The delay did not stop Smith from signing for seven birdies and one dropped shot in his brilliant 65. "It was nice," Smith said. "It was a bit better day today, which always puts a smile on your face and yeah, obviously the golf was pretty good as well. Started really solid and kind of kept it going the whole way through. Maybe a few kind of errant shots there at the end, but you kind of expect that throughout round of golf. So yeah, pretty solid, all in all. I'd like to think this is my home event. This tournament's always been really nice to me and it's always really nice to be in contention here."
Smith was not on his own though. The 22-year-old, who chipped in from the bunker on his last hole on Thursday to take the first-round lead, birdied the 18th to sign for a four-under 67 to join his compatriot at the summit. There are only five non-Australian players sitting in the top 16. "I finished really strong," Smylie said. "Birdie at 16 and then managed a really good two-putt on 17 from a tricky position. And then, had really nice wedge shot into the last and made a nice five footer for birdie. I think I saw I’m tied for lead, which is good. So I'm obviously in a good position heading into tomorrow."
Rutherford almost cards second ace of the season
There was almost the second hole-in-one of the 2025 DP World Tour season after only two rounds when Jamie Rutherford dialled in close at the par-three 11th. It was the same hole which South Korea's MK Kim aced during Thursday's opening round of the campaign, although the Englishman had a brand new BMW i5 on offer.
Party Hole narrowly denied
The Party Hole has lived up to its name at the 17th at Royal Queensland Golf Club and they were nearly rewarded for their efforts by Marco Penge. If there was an ace at the par-three hole on Saturday, $1,000,000 AUD would be shared between the registered spectators in attendance and the Englishman came this close to making them a little bit richer.
So close to an ace and the $1,000,000 AUD 😭#AusPGA | @PengeMarco https://t.co/BkZR3xT7Yr pic.twitter.com/EW5eF3omjB

Sinnott's silky hole out
It is pretty hard to describe how outrageous Todd Sinnott's chip-in for birdie at the par-three 11th really was, so just watch for yourself. Ridiculous!
