Memorable winners

The Blot Open de Bretagne has been won by stars of the European Challenge Tour through the years. It is ten years since Italy’s Andrea Pavan triumphed in Pléneuf for his second win of the year ahead of topping the season-long Rankings.

A year earlier, two-time DP World Tour winner Eddie Pepperell won his maiden Challenge Tour title at a venue that has become synonymous with first time winners.

Since Benjamin Hebert’s victory on home soil in 2014, five of the last seven winners have all been first-time champions, including Julien Brun, Sebastian Heisele, Jack Singh Brar, Birgir Hafthorsson and Scott Arnold, while Alfie Plant defends his title this week.

Golf Blue Green de Pléneuf Val André will host the Challenge Tour for a 16th time this week, with the stunning golf course setting the challenge for the field. Situated in Brittany in the north west of France, the golf course sits on the edge of the cliffs overlooking the sea. The tenth and 11th holes run alongside the beach with a view stretching over the English Channel.

Challenge Tour in France

This week is the first of three French events on the Road to Mallorca, and the first of a two-week swing in the country.

Golf Bluegreen de Pléneuf Val André hosts the action before the Tour moves north for the Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge from June 29 to July 2. The Challenge Tour returns to France for a third time when the Hopps Open de Provence celebrates its fifth anniversary from October 5-8.
