European Ryder Cup Captain Bjørn is thrilled to be back playing close to home.

He said: "We hope to see a large Danish crowd cheering us on. We know the Danes come out in droves to watch first class golf, and we aim to entertain them.

"For Scandinavian professional golfers, the Nordea Masters is one of the events we look forward the most to during the tournament year. The crowd is always exceptionally supportive."

Thorbjørn Olesen said: "I am very excited to be returning to the Nordea Masters. It is an event I have always enjoyed, and with it being so close to Denmark I hope to have a lot of home support throughout the week."

The great atmosphere at the Nordea Masters each year attracts crowds of more than 70,000 over the week, and 2017 marks the return to the beautiful Barsebäck Golf & Country Club in the southern part of Sweden.

The venue is vastly experienced in staging the event, most recently in 2009, and this year the Nordea Masters visits Barsebäck for the tenth time. Its geographical location means we have all that the Öresund region has to offer, and easy access for a population of several million within an hour by car.

Jamie Salmon, 2017 Nordea Masters Promoter and Head of European Golf at Lagardère Sports, said: “The return of Nordea Masters to Barsebäck is important for the region as a whole. We are delighted to have a strong Danish presence, and together with our world-class Swedish players it is going to be a fantastic week for everyone visiting."
