Alex Noren fired six birdies in his first ten holes to open up a two-shot lead on day two of the British Masters supported by Sky Sports.

The Swede began the day a single shot behind the overnight co-leaders but soon climbed to the top of the leaderboard courtesy of three birdies in his opening four holes.

Noren finished his front nine with back-to-back birdies before rolling in from ten feet for another gain at the first - his tenth hole - to get to ten under.

Englishman Andrew Johnston, playing in the same group as Noren, was two shots back in second after notching four birdies in his first ten holes.

Ryder Cup star Chris Wood, South African Richard Sterne and Tommy Fleetwood were another stroke further back on seven under.

Fleetwood, who was one of four players tied at the top of the leaderboard after one round, carded three bogeys in his opening five holes on Friday morning but bounced back brilliantly, firing three birdies and an eagle in his next five holes to get to seven under after ten.

Meanwhile Soomin Lee, starting at the tenth tee, made a hole-in-one at the 13th on his way to covering his front nine in 35.
