With the five Global Swings now complete, the race to make it all the way to the DP World Tour play-offs and the season-ending DP World Tour Championship gets under way on the Back 9 this week.
This phase will encompass nine of the DP World Tour’s most historic tournaments and national Opens - including a Rolex Series event at the BMW PGA Championship - and concludes on October 27 at the Genesis Championship.
After that event in South Korea, the top 110 players on the Race to Dubai Rankings in partnership with Rolex will earn their DP World Tour cards for 2025, while the top will 70 qualify for the play-offs.
The top 50 at the end of the Abu Dhabi Championship will then advance to the season finale, where the Harry Vardon trophy will be presented to Europe's Number One.
The battle to make Luke Donald's European Ryder Cup team also gets under way at The Belfry and the Captain is in the field along with Vice Captain Edoardo Molinari.
Kiwi Daniel Hiller defends his title this week, with recent winners Harry Hall and Frederic Lacroix also teeing it up alongside home favourites such as Danny Willett, Tyrrell Hatton, Matt Wallace and exciting young amateur Kris Kim.
If you have not done so already, you can sign up to play the official 2024 DP World Tour Fantasy game here and submit your six-man team before round one gets under way on Thursday.
The 2024 season-long winner will win a trip to the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai next year, enjoy a lesson with a DP World Tour professional and a round of golf on the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates. For more information on this amazing prize and others, read here.
Fantasy Insight: As things stand, Hatton is our most popular pick this week, appearing in just over 80% of teams, which makes him the second most popular pick of the season so far at this stage of the week after Nicolai Højgaard in Denmark.
Another home favourite in Wallace is next with just over 60% of players selecting him, while Scandinavians Thorbjørn Olesen and Jesper Svensson come next, with last week's winner Lacroix rounding out the top five.
Here, we pick out three players in action this week who are worth considering for your Fantasy team selections.
Favourite - Tyrrell Hatton
The Ryder Cup star is the strong favourite among users of the Fantasy game as he makes his first appearance at the British Masters for five years.
In each of his four previous appearances, the six-time DP World Tour winner has made the cut and holds top tens from 2016 and 2017.
At the start of the year, Hatton finished tied 31st at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic and then he earned a top ten at the Masters Tournament in April.
His most recent victory worldwide came at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship in 2021.
While he missed the cut at The Open last month, it is perhaps no surprise the Englishman is in many teams this week.
Form Horse - Frederic Lacroix
Sometimes the obvious choice is the correct one and you cannot get much more in-form than arriving off a win.
Lacroix had the week of his life in Denmark, carding a closing 65 to win the Danish Golf Championship by four shots but that performance did not come out of nowhere.
The two-time European Challenge Tour graduate is making the most of his second bite of the DP World Tour cherry, with two top tens early in the season and just three missed cuts from 17 starts.
Since the last of those at the Italian Open presented by Regione Emilia-Romagna, he finished in the top 20 at the BMW International Open, third at the D+D REAL Czech Masters and then lifted the trophy last week.
So it is no surprise just under 25% of players have picked him so far this week.
Wild card - Lucas Bjerregaard
Everyone loves a comeback story, so there will have been a few smiles among DP World Tour fans when the Dane's name popped up on the leaderboard last week.
A consistent performer across his first three seasons on tour, Bjerregaard was a winner in 2017 and 2018 before he made headlines by defeating Tiger Woods in the quarter-finals of the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play the following year.
But he lost his card in 2022, making just nine cuts in 28 starts, and finished 116th on last season's Road to Mallorca, although a top ten at the Indoor Golf Group Challenge suggested the old magic was still there.
Another top ten at the 2024 Black Desert NI Open presented by Tom McKibbin kickstarted a run of three in a row on the Challenge Tour before he finished second last week on home soil to earn his place in the field at The Belfry.
The old saying goes that form is temporary and class is permanent and some of our players are seeing that in Bjeregaard, with just under 6% of them putting him in their team's this week.
Looking Back - Danish Golf Championship
Some players had clearly been tracking Lacroix's form as he appeared in 9.19% of teams last week, although he was picked as captain by just 100 (0.57%), making his 208 points very valuable indeed.
Our Favourite Nicolai Højgaard finished in a respectable tie for 14th for the 48.74% of players who picked him, while Form Horse Bernd Wiesberger and Wild Card Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen were just a shot further back.
