Bernhard Langer to headline WINSTONgolf Senior Open

Record ten-time Senior Major Champion Bernhard Langer will tee it up on home soil at the WINSTONgolf Senior Open at WINSTONgolf from July 19-21.

The two-time Masters champion and World Golf Hall of Fame Member will make his first regular Staysure Tour appearance of the season in Vorbeck, as he goes in search of clinching a senior title on home soil for the first time.

Langer, who won The Senior Open Presented by Rolex in 2017 and finished runner-up on the Old Course at St Andrews last season, came closest to winning the WINSTONgolf Senior Open four years ago when he lost in a play-off to Paul Wesselingh.

For the ninth edition of the German event, Langer will tee it up alongside the stars of the Staysure Tour as he goes in search of his first victory in Germany since the 2001 Linde German Masters on the European Tour.

“Playing in front of a home audience is always rather special,” said Langer. “This year's tournament will be played on the WINSTONopen again, on the course on which I was second in 2014. My task this year will be to improve that position – as WINSTONgolf ambassador of course I would like to win the WINSTONgolf Senior Open. I will do my very best – as always!”

Tournament Director Stefanie Merchel added: “We are very pleased to have Bernhard Langer here as the public's favourite and an exemplary golfer. Spectators will also have a unique opportunity to experience at first hand all the other top players from the Staysure tour alongside him in our Tournament.”
