The season again reaches its climax with the Apulia San Domenico Grand Final at San Domenico Golf in Puglia, Italy, where the identity of the top 20 graduates will be revealed. The nail-biting finale to the eight-month season traditionally serves up joy and despair in equal measure: a good week can shoot players up the Rankings, whereas those treading water run the risk of being overtaken in the home strait in the race to reach the promised land of The European Tour. For the sixth year running the drama will be played out at San Domenico Golf, which is part of the European Golf Design group. Situated on the east coast of Italy near the town of Fasano, the course lends itself to some spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea. The originally flat and featureless agricultural land has been shaped to create definition, resulting in a links-style layout. The course is ring-fenced by traditional stone walling, and olive trees line a number of the fairways. Measuring 6,677 yards the course places a degree of emphasis on strategic design, and boasts a natural elegance which complements the adjoining Masseria San Domenico Hotel.
