“As we build on the momentum from the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, we are grateful for Annika’s leadership and are thrilled to have her continue in her role as president of the IGF,” said IGF Executive Director Antony Scanlon.

“Annika is a key figure in our sport, and with her experience, knowledge and passion, we are committed to the ongoing growth and development of golf into the future.”

Sörenstam, whose tenure as IGF president began on January 1 2021, was re-elected for her third term, which will run from January 1 2025 to December 31 2026.

During her 15-year, Hall of Fame playing career, Sörenstam rewrote the LPGA and Ladies European Tour record books, won countless awards and changed the way women’s golf was played, viewed and covered.

In 2007, she created the ANNIKA Foundation, which provides golf opportunities at the junior, collegiate and professional levels while teaching young people the importance of living a healthy, active lifestyle through fitness and nutrition.

Guy Kinnings, the Chief Executive of the European Tour group, serves as the Chairman of the International Golf Federation (IGF) Board. For more information on the IGF’s Governance, please visit: https://www.igfgolf.org/about/governance.
