Andrew Wilson enjoyed a memorable day at Kingsbarns Golf Links as he made a hole-in-one at the eighth hole in his spotless 63.
In perfect conditions on day one of the 2024 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, Englishman Wilson opened his round with four birdies in the first five holes before striking gold at the eighth.
Using a nine iron, he holed his tee-shot from 165 yards for an ace that he will not forget in a hurry.
The 30-year-old followed that up with three birdies on the back nine to reach nine under par and sit two shots behind first-round leader Darren Fichardt.
He said: "Perfect nine iron. Thought it was a bit short. Yeah, it was a pretty good number and just trickled in.
"Went wild, to be honest. I didn't think I had it in me. I was pretty happy.
"I think what epitomises holes-in-one for me is I haven't had one for 12 years and I had four before the age of 13. So yeah, they have got quite a bit of luck element to them.
"Yeah, it's obviously nice to have one, and it's a great thing to see on the scorecard.
"I played great, hit all 18 greens. I missed a couple of putts here and there. I can't complain. Great start to the week."
