Amundi, one of the world’s leading asset management companies with US$1,100 billion AUM worldwide, has further extended its relationship with The European Tour after renewing their support of the Hong Kong Open, which will take place from October 16-19 at the Hong Kong Golf Club.
Amundi, which had recently celebrated its fourth year in partnership with the Alstom Open de France, will once again become a Premier Partner of the Hong Kong Open.
Tri-sanctioned with the Asian Tour and the Hong Kong Golf Association, the Hong Kong Open has a rich and illustrious history. The tournament was first staged in 1959 and became part of The European Tour’s International Schedule in 2001 with former winners including Ken Nagle, Peter Thompson, Greg Norman, Ian Woosnam, Bernhard Langer, Tom Watson, José María Olazábal, Padraig Harrington, Colin Montgomerie, Ian Poulter, Rory McIlroy and current champion Miguel Angel Jiménez.
With this year’s event being staged just two weeks before the start of The Race to Dubai’s Final Series, the Hong Kong Open will represent one of the last opportunities for players to break into the all-important top 60 to qualify for the four end of season events, which are worth a combined $30.5 million.
