Best Spots to Watch

Royal County Down Golf Club is one of the most prestigious golf venues in the world, boasting incredible scenic views of not only the golf course but also the surrounding Mourne mountains. Here are some great viewing spots not to miss out on:

1st tee
Watch the players tee off in the 200-capacity grandstand behind the first tee box with views of the clubhouse to the left and the Irish Sea to the right.

4th Green
The 220-capacity grandstand lets you see players on the signature par 3, 4th hole.

7th Green
The viewing platform by the 7th green gives great views of the par 3 7th, tee shots on 8 as well as a fantastic view of the Mourne mountains in the background.

10th Green
Behind the 10th green is a natural amphitheatre making most of the area a great viewing spot. This also looks directly back to the clubhouse with the Mourne Mountains behind.

13th hole
All along the left-hand side of the 13th approach to the green and the green itself has a raised cart path which lends itself perfectly to a viewing area.

18th Green
Don’t miss out on the near 1,000-capacity wrap-around 18th grandstand to watch players approach and putts on the last.

There are accessible viewing areas for fans with accessibility requirements by the 1st tee, 9th green, and 18th green.
