David Lipsky is delighted to see Americans thriving on the European Tour as the United States enjoys a purple patch on the Race to Dubai.
Lipsky's great friend Kurt Kitayama got the ball rolling with victory at the Afrasia Bank Mauritius Open at Anahita and the 30-year-old made it two American victories before Christmas at the Alfred Dunhill Championship.
Since then, Kitayama has doubled his tally, Dustin Johnson has claimed a brace of wins, and Bryson DeChambeau, Kevin Kisner - who currently leads the Race to Dubai Rankings Presented by Rolex - and Tiger Woods have made it eight wins from 18 events for the stars and stripes.
That theme has continued at this week's Trophée Hassan II, with Lipsky, Sean Crocker and Julian Suri all in contention heading into the weekend, and Lipsky is delighted to see his countrymen spread their wings.
"Bryson and DJ have come out and played well and they're some of the best players in the world," he said. "What Kurt and I have been doing has been playing pretty solid.
"It's become more comfortable out here, Americans are more open to coming out, travelling, playing more and it's great to have friends out here."
Lipsky carded five birdies and two bogeys in an impressive 70 in windy weather on day two at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam.
"I played really solid today," he added. "It's tough on that back nine when the wind picked up and the greens firmed up so I'm really happy with where I'm at. We're going into the weekend looking pretty good."
Suri was at six under before he put his ball in the water on the difficult ninth for a double bogey but was still pleased with a 71 in very tough conditions.
"It was a really solid round," he said. "Still in position to contend for this thing. I hit a lot of good shots and obviously I had one kind of blemish on my last hole today. For the most part I'm pretty pleased with where my game's at."
