Langasque ties course record at the Old Course
Romain Langasque was seven under for his last six holes at St Andrews as he shot an opening 61 to equal Ross Fisher's record at the Old Course. He carded two eagles, eight birdies and a single bogey on Thursday to open up a one-shot lead on 11 under par. He said: "It's amazing. I think it's something I will remember for the rest of my life."
French players shine in Scotland
Langasque wasn't the only Frenchman who made an impression on day one, with Frederic Lacroix posting a spotless 62 over at Kingsbarns Golf Links to sit alone in second place. And their countryman Antoine Rozner, who played at the Old Course on day one, was in a tie for third alongside Niklas Nørgaard Møller on nine under. Check this out from Lacroix...

Migliozzi's sparkling form continues
Last week's winner Guido Migliozzi carried his impressive form into this week as he started with a 66 at St Andrews, making seven birdies and one bogey. He very nearly holed this one for a spectacular eagle..

Root shows he's a man of many talents
England cricket star Joe Root isn't just a run-scoring machine, he's also a pretty good golfer. Playing alongside Laird Shepherd, Root rattled in this putt at the 12th as the pair got to ten under par in the team competition.

Molinari impresses on return to Carnoustie
Francesco Molinari was back at the scene of his 2018 Open Championship triumph on day one, signing for a 68 at Carnoustie.

Noren lands eagle
Alex Noren drained this monster putt for an eagle at Carnoustie's sixth hole. He heads into the second round on five under par.
