Jamieson sets course record
Scott Jamieson fired a course-record 63 on Friday to storm into a three-shot lead. The Scot carded nine birdies and no bogeys to reach 13 under par. All parts of his game were impressive on day two but the putting particularly stood out as he holed a number of important ones for birdie and par.
Bunker brilliance from Els
Home hero Ernie Els found himself in the sand at the tenth but produced this absolute beauty to set up a close-range birdie.

He then followed that up with another birdie at the 11th...

Kimsey's bravery rewarded at the 15th
Nathan Kimsey decided against taking the safe option with his third shot on the back nine's penultimate par five, instead landing his ball towards the edge of green - not far from the water - and spinning it to within tap-in range. It's fair to say he got his reward.

Kimsey also made two front-nine eagles in his second-round 64.
Eddie goes close to eagle
Eddie Pepperell was denied a hole-out eagle at the fourth by the narrowest of margins. This would have been one to remember...

He finished his second round in style, though, firing birdies at the 16th, 17th and 18th to head into the weekend on ten under par.

Ravetto looking forward to the weekend
DP World Tour Qualifying School graduate David Ravetto shot back-to-back 67s on Thursday and Friday to sit firmly in contention heading into the weekend, and he is relishing the challenge. The Frenchman said: "It's going to be a real test for my game and my mental game as well. I'm really looking forward to it and I hope I'll play good."
