With the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open marking the climax of the Opening Swing, don’t miss out on your final chance of the year to compete against golf fans from around the world in the DP World Tour’s official Fantasy game.
After back-to-back weeks in South Africa, the DP World Tour makes its final stop of the year in Mauritius as a field of DP World Tour and Sunshine Tour players gather on Indian Ocean island.
They’ll be playing for the double incentive of AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open glory as well as a host of opportunities open to the winner of the five-tournament Opening Swing, which forms part of the DP World Tour’s 2025 Race to Dubai.
Fantasy Insight: Antoine Rozner is the most popular pick among both the bookmakers and Fantasy players this week, featuring in 68% of teams.
The Frenchman is followed by rising Spanish star Angel Ayora at 54%, with another Challenge Tour graduate John Parry at 48%.
Despite failing to capitalise on his 54-hole lead at Leopard Creek, Marcus Kinhult is well backed at 44%, with Marcel Siem rounding out the top five at 38%.
Here, we pick out three players in action this week who are worth considering for your Fantasy team selections.
Favourite - Antoine Rozner
The Frenchman is set for his first start on the 2025 Race to Dubai season this week at Mont Choisy Le Golf, scene of his third and most recent DP World Tour title in 2022. Prior to his win then, he finished tied second in 2019 and tied seventh a year earlier so Mauritius is clearly a popular destination. Three top tens in a row at the back end of last season, culminating in a tied third finish at the DP World Tour Championship, saw him earn dual membership status with the PGA TOUR for 2025. His end-of-season form also saw him be selected for next month's Team Cup in Abu Dhabi where he will hope to help Continental Europe to victory for the second time after doing so at the inaugural edition in 2023.
Form Horse - Angel Ayora
Despite having only turned 20 in October, it appears safe to say Spain has a genuine long-term talent on its hands in Ayora. After finishing the Challenge Tour season with back-to-back runner-up finishes, he has made an excellent impression since his graduation onto the DP World Tour. Having won his first professional title at the Rosa Challenge in Poland In September, he was in contention over the weekend at the Alfred Dunhill Championship before he found water with his second on the 18th at Leopard Creek. Nevertheless, it was his second top ten in his first three starts of his rookie DP World Tour campaign after finishing tied sixth at the season-opening BMW Australian PGA Championship. His early season form means he sits eighth on the Race to Dubai Rankings and has risen inside the top 200 on the Official World Golf Ranking.
Wild Card - Jayden Schaper
The South African is another young talent who looks set to have a long and successful career ahead of him. While he missed the cut last week at the Alfred Dunhill Championship, his form last season was good enough to get him to the first of the two DP World Tour Play-Offs in the United Arab Emirates. Reaching the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship was largely down to a sellar start to last season in which he finished in the top ten in four consecutive co-sanctioned DP World Tour and Sunshine Tour events. One of those came on his debut at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open. A former Sunshine Tour Rookie of the Year, the 23-year-old is certainly not to be discounted as he awaits that elusive first professional win.
Looking back – Alfred Dunhill Championship
With just over 2% of picks among Fantasy players, Shaun Norris proved a surprise winner as he claimed his second DP World Tour title on home soil while he rewarded the 12 players who picked him as their Captain.
Our pre-event pick as Favourite Christiaan Bezuidenhout finished T36th, with Form Horse Brandon Stone T24th, while our Wild Card selection David Ravetto missed the cut at Leopard Creek.
