The 2024 Italian Open will be held at the Adriatic Golf Club in Cervia, from June 27-30, it was announced today.
It will be the first time Italy’s national Open has been played in the Emilia-Romagna in 31 years, after New Zealand’s Greg Turner took the title at Modena Golf & Country Club in 1993.
Adriatic Golf Club will host the 81st edition of the Italian Open at the same time the 111th edition of the Tour de France also gets underway on the Adriatic coast on June 29.
The 2024 venue was confirmed at a press conference in Bologna today by the president of the Emilia-Romagna region, Stefano Bonaccini, and President of the Italian Golf Federation, Franco Chimenti.
They also announced that Argentario Golf Club in Monte Argentario, in Tuscany, will host the 2025 Italian Open. It will be only the second time the prestigious tournament has visited Tuscany, 42 years after Bernhard Langer beat Seve Ballesteros and Ken Brown in a play-off at Ugolino Golf Club.
The past three editions of the Italian Open have been played at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club, which then hosted the 2023 Ryder Cup as Europe triumphed in golf’s greatest team contest.
Poland’s Adrian Meronk claimed the title earlier this year, following victories for Scotland’s Robert MacIntyre and Denmark’s Nicolai Højgaard in 2022 and 2021 respectively.
