Aces everywhere on day one at Himmerland Hill

Himmerland Hill Golf & Spa Resort's 16th hole has gained a reputation as being one of the most atmospheric and dramatic on the European Tour, and with the first day pin seeing the famous par three measuring only 86 yards, there was always bound to be plenty of entertainment on the opening day...

And drama is exactly what we got with both Zander Lombard and Edoardo Molinari taking full advantage of the generous tee and pin position to both make holes-in-one.

In the early part of the day Lombard made his mark courtesy of a 56 degree wedge, with the South African’s superb ace, the 997th in European Tour history, seeing him spin the ball back down the hill and in.

The 22 year old then made the spine-tingling walk up towards the green to be greeted by hundreds of vocal Danish fans.
