Emirates Golf Club is one of the world’s most prominent venues, hosting the European Tour’s longest-running Middle East event, the Omega Dubai Desert Classic.
The venue contains The Faldo Course, the Par 3 Academy Course and The Majlis Course, which is the flagship championship course and has played as the host venue for the Omega Dubai Desert Classic for 29 of its 31 of its tournaments.
The Majlis, a 7301 yard par 72 course which opened in 1988, was originally designed by Karl Litten and was the first grass course in the Middle East, taking its name from the Arabic word for ‘meeting place’.

In addition to world class golf facilities, Emirates Golf Club offers six dining options including the Roseleaf Café and the renowned Carine, a French Mediterranean restaurant, along with various sporting activities such as tennis, paddle tennis, squash, fitness classes and a luxurious spa, allowing guests to relax away from the golf course.
Host of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic
Venue to the Dubai Desert Classic on 29 occasions, the Majilis course at Emirates Golf Club has become an iconic setting that boasts an elite list of champions – including multiple times for Tiger Woods, Ernie Els, Rory McIlroy and Stephen Gallacher.
Yet one of the most memorable moments at this course belongs to Colin Montgomerie, who earned a plaque on the 18th fairway for hitting a driver off the deck in 1996 on his way to capturing the title.
Former champion Henrik Stenson said one of the key reasons he likes the course is that it never really plays the same.
“I think one of the main things that I really like with this golf course is it never really seems to play the same day-in and day-out,” Stenson said last year. “The way the two nines are looped; you get a slight change in wind direction, and some of the holes that played really short yesterday might play a little longer today and vice versa.
“You can always find a new line on a par 5 off the tee, and it never really plays the same two days after each other. So it's not a course you're going to get bored with and feel like you're playing it the same way every day.”
