It is the first time the newspaper has taken on a partnership role with the DP World Tour Championship – to be staged from November 22-25 at the Earth course, Jumeirah Golf Estates – in a move welcomed by both parties.

Mark Rix, CEO of 7DAYS said: “We are absolutely delighted to join The European Tour as the Official Newspaper of the DP World Tour Championship.  This partnership sees 7DAYS join a line-up of premier global brands and re-confirms our position as the United Arab Emirates’ most popular English daily newspaper.

He added: “Our readers will be hungry for information on The European Tour’s spectacular end of season event and with an incredible prize fund of US$8 million up for grabs for 60 of the world’s top golfers, we will ensure that through our newspaper, websites and mobile applications we will take this event not only to the UAE’s many golfing fans, but to a wider national audience of sporting enthusiasts.”

Nick Tarratt, Director of European Tour International – Dubai Office, said the tournament was pleased to welcome 7DAYS to the family of sponsors associated with the European Tour’s season-ending finale.

“We are delighted to welcome 7DAYS on board and are excited at the plans they have in place to showcase the tournament in the build-up and during the event. Alongside the world-class golf, we will once again be offering a variety of entertainment and hospitality opportunities for all the family to enjoy. Partnering with 7DAYS allows us to communicate to a broader audience both in the paper and online.

“The DP World Tour Championship is now in its fourth year at Jumeirah Golf Estates and following the tournament victories of Lee Westwood, Robert Karlsson and Alvaro Quiros over the past three years, we fully expect another magnificent tournament as 60 qualifiers chase the winner’s cheque of US$1.33 million.”

With annual crowds of more than 40,000, the DP World Tour Championship is firmly established as one of the most popular dates on the Dubai sporting calendar. And in a move that will delight spectators from across the region, season tickets to the event will once again be free of charge via the tournament websitewww.dpworldtourchampionship.com.

The Race to Dubai sees the players compete over 45 events in 25 countries on The European Tour schedule with the top 60 ranked golfers qualifying for the end of season finale, the DP World Tour Championship.

In addition to the US$8 million prize money, the players will also compete for a share of the US$3.75 million Race to Dubai bonus pool awarded to the top ten players with the European Number One collecting US$1 million.
