Qualifying events were held at Bearwood Lakes Golf Club, Hindhead Golf Club and Burhill Golf Club in England on Monday, in addition to, for the first time in the Championship’s history, an overseas qualifier at Firestone Country Club in the United States last month.

American Fran Quinn led the way at Burhill Golf Club, posting a six under par round of 66 to book his place at Sunningdale, with English amateur Ian Clarke and countryman Steven Green finishing second and third, respectively. In total, 14 players qualified from the event at Burhill.

England’s Stuart Little, who earned his Legends Tour card at Qualifying School in 2019, came out on top at Bearwood Lakes thanks to a five under par round. Richard O’Hanlon qualified in second place while a further four players finished in a tie for third, including Little’s fellow Qualifying School graduate Euan McIntosh, who earned his card in 2020. Bearwood Lakes produced 16 qualifiers in total, including another Qualifying School export in Canada’s David Morland IV.

The Qualifying School theme continued at Hinhead Golf Club, with New Zealander Michael Long posting a five under par round of 65 to qualify in first place. He was followed by English trio Stephen Bennett, Martin Young, an amateur, and Neil Turley, who finished second, third and fourth, respectively. Sunningdale will welcome 17 players from Hindhead, including Legends Tour winner Mark Mouland.

Earlier in the year, nine players qualified for The Senior Open Presented by Rolex at Firestone Country Club, led by Jay Williamson, who came out on top.

In total, 393 players teed it up in Senior Open Qualifying across the four sites with 56 players booking their place among the world’s best over-50s golfers for Europe’s only Senior Major Championship.

Ticket prices for The 2021 Senior Open Presented by Rolex start at £20 for the Wednesday practice day, while season tickets, offering access to all four Championship days plus the practice day, are priced at £100. Tickets can be purchased by visiting https://senioropen2021.eventbrite.co.uk. Due to limited capacity on-site, buying tickets in advance is highly recommended.

The only official sales channel to purchase tickets for The 2021 Senior Open Presented by Rolex is via the ticketing platform Eventbrite. The resale of tickets on unofficial platforms contravenes the European Tour’s ticket terms and conditions and such sales render the ticket void.
