Everything you need to know from the second round at Real Club de Golf Sotogrande.
Jorge Campillo built a big lead after keeping the bogeys off his card once again, while other home players shone on day two of the 2024 Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters.
Here is everything you need to know from the second round at Real Club de Golf Sotogrande.
Flawless Campillo storms to the summit
Starting the day two shots off the lead after his opening 64, Campillo took over at the top after just two holes on Friday courtesy of a hole-out eagle from the 11th fairway. And he never looked back, adding five birdies in his second-round 65 to reach 15 under, stay bogey-free for the tournament so far and take a four-shot lead into the weekend. After finishing his round, Campillo joined the commentators in the box during the afternoon and expressed his desire to secure a first victory on home or even European soil. He said: "It would be nice. I have never won in Europe, always in Africa or Asia. Yeah, it would be great, definitely. Still a lot to go but it would be nice to win in your home country."
Rahm and co put on a show
The enormous crowd following home heroes Jon Rahm and Angel Hidalgo, and their playing partner Rasmus Højgaard, were treated to some top-level golf on Friday afternoon. Hidalgo, who defeated two-time major winner Rahm in a play-off to win the acciona Open de España presented by Madrid last month, was in fine form again as he produced a shot-of-the-day contender to set up an eagle on the second before conjuring up yet more magic at the third, this time from the sand, on his way to a birdie there. Rahm, meanwhile, birdied the same two holes before reeling off a hat-trick of gains from the fifth, sending the crowd wild. Check out these birdies from the trio at the seventh hole...

Puig makes the cut in style
As Spain's David Puig prepared to chip from around the ninth green - his final hole of the day - the equation was simple. Sitting right on the projected cut line at two under par, he needed to get up and down to have any chance of playing over the weekend. But he went one better, chipping in for a birdie to make certain.
Coussaud's ace prize
Remember when Ugo Coussaud made a brilliant hole-in-one at the par-three eighth on Thursday? Well he got his reward on day two as he was presented with his body weight in Estrella Damm.
