2022 Horizon Irish Open - Event Information

Here's everything you need to know ahead of the 2022 Horizon Irish Open.

Travel By Car

Spectators should follow the yellow AA event signage which will direct you to the off-site park and ride car park for transfer to the Horizon Irish Open.

PARK & RIDE.

Free Park & Ride for all Spectators

All ticket holders can use the free park and ride service, which will drop you off at the entrance to the Horizon Irish Open. Please follow your sat-nav until you pick up the AA event signage, which will direct you to the public park and ride.

The park and ride car park will open from 07.00 on Wednesday for Pro Am and at 06.45 for Tournament Days.

There will be no access to Mount Juliet Estate for spectators’ vehicles, except those with valid car park labels.

DISABLED CUSTOMERS
There will be dedicated disabled spaces on site for spectators whose vehicles display a blue badge. Wheelchair users will need to contact Ticketing@europeantourgroup.com in order to make arrangements in advance and gain admission to site.

TAXI/UBER

Taxi and Uber drop off and collection will be at the public park and ride park only. There is strictly no Taxi/Uber drop off at Mount Juliet Estate for General ticket holders.

THE CHAMPIONSHIP VILLAGE
The Championship Village is located near to the 10th Tee and 16th Green and where it’s all happening off the golf course and where you will find plenty of seating to relax. There will be a couple of big screens showing the action and scores so, there is no need to miss any of the golf.

The Spectator Village is a hive of activity with lots of sporting activities within the Horizon Interactive Zone to keep the whole family entertained.

There will be a “Make A Wish Challenge” 20m long putt where you can try and hole out and support a fantastic charity in the process.

Golf simulator 1st Tee Pressure shot -Take on the Pressure as you try and hit the fairway down the 1st hole at Mount Juliet.

A multisport game zone representing challenges in Basketball, American Football and Hurling

Green Screen Photo Opportunity where you can get some images taken of your time at the Horizon Irish Open to share on socials or with friends and family.

There will also be a Dubai Duty Free Tennis Simulator - Using the latest Batfast technology, you can take on challenges to score as many points as possible in our tennis simulator.

EXHIBITION

There are various exhibitions within the Championship Village; BMW Car displays showing off their cutting-edge technology and designs and Failte Ireland will also have a stand.

Official Merchandise Shop: A wide range of Official 2022 Horizon Irish Open Event and DP World Tour merchandise is on sale at the Official Merchandise Shop in the Championship Village. Official European Tour Merchandise website: https://shop.europeantour.com/

Decathlon: The sports retail giant will be promoting their online next-day delivery store for all your sporting needs across 70 different sports. Those wanting to chance their luck at some foam archery or table tennis can do so in the Championship Village, with a chance to win some online and in-store gift cards!

Andalucia Golf: For those looking to learn more about golf in the sunnier shores of Andalucia, the Andalucia Golf unit in the Championship Village is for you. The team there will be there to chat about all things golf in one of the best golf destinations in Europe.

ENTERTAINMENT IN THE VILLAGE

Toploader will take to the stage on Wednesday 16:00 – 18:00

Toploader are an English rock band from Eastbourne, East Sussex, formed in 1997, with over two million album sales and a few top 20 hits both home and abroad. Their debut album, Onka's Big Moka, sold over one million units and peaked in the top 5 of the UK Albums Chart, where it remained for six months.

Hermitage Green will be the headline act on Saturday evening 18:00 – 19:30

Hermitage Green, an Irish acoustic folk-rock band, will play just one other Irish gig ahead of the Horizon Irish Open before embarking on a UK tour with Paloma Faith and their own US tour later this year. The band previously played the tournament when it was staged in Lahinch in 2019. ​

Allie Sherlock will be the headline act on Sunday evening 18:00 – 19:30

17-year-old Allie Sherlock will play her first headline gig. Allie performed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in the US in 2018 and boasts over five million YouTube subscribers. ​

GRANDSTAND SEATING / VIEWING PLATFORM

Sit, relax, and enjoy the live action.

Free Spectator grandstand seating is available on a first-come first-served basis in the following locations:

A dedicated wheelchair viewing area will be positioned at the front of the 18th green, with seating also reserved in the 18th grandstand for those with mobility issues.

NO SMOKING in the grandstands or viewing platforms. Alcohol will be permitted on the grandstands at this event. Spectators are kindly asked not to stand in the grandstands during play.

ADDITIONAL SEATING

There are picnic bench seating areas located in the Championship Village surrounding the food outlets, big screen, and exhibitions. There are also seating areas at each of the on-course public catering outlets.

LEADERBOARDS

Live leaderboards are located across holes 6, 9, 12, 16, 17 and 18 to keep you up to date with the action.  
Big Screens are also located at 18th Green and within the Championship Village.

CHARITY

The official charity to the Horizon Irish Open is “Make A Wish”

There is “Make A Wish Challenge” a 20m long putt where, for a small donation, you can try and hole out and support a fantastic charity in the process.

Toilet Facilities / First Aid

There are public toilet facilities available in the following areas.

  • 5th Green/6th Tee
  • 11th Tee/13th Green/14th Tee
  • 17th fairway

*Baby changing facilities are located within the disabled toilets

The First Aid tent is located at the entrance to the event.  There will also be mobile first aiders onsite.
