Erik van Rooyen saw his lead cut to three shots in the early stages of the final round of the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open hosted by the Rory Foundation.
The South African entered day four of the fourth Rolex Series event of the season four ahead and while he started his round with three pars, New Zealander Ryan Fox and Spaniard Jorge Campillo both made moves to get to 11 under and reduce the gap.
Scot Russell Knox and Swede Joakim Lagergren were then at ten under at Ballyliffin Golf Club, a shot ahead of England's Danny Willett and Frenchman Matthieu Pavon.
Campillo got off to a flying start, holing an 18-footer on the first, adding another birdie on the next and then putting his second to eight feet on the fourth to set up an eagle.
That saw him join Lagergren in second but Fox and Willett were heading in the other direction, both dropping a shot at the first.
Pavon made a birdie on the fourth and the holed a 15-footer after a nice tee-shot on the par three fifth to get to nine under.
The inviting pin at the fourth was giving the players plenty of opportunity and Knox was the next to take advantage, putting his second to six feet for an eagle and a share of second.
Fox holed a 30-footer on the same hole for an eagle of his own to get within three and he was soon joined by Campillo who holed from similar distance on the eighth.
Willett birdied the fourth to get back to level par for the day, while Lagergren began his day with three pars.
Defending champion Jon Rahm was at seven under alongside Raphaël Jacquelin, Zander Lombard, Peter Uihlein and Lee Westwood.
