Pepperell surges ahead in Scotland

England's Eddie Pepperell raced to the turn in 30 to take control of the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open.

The 27 year old Englishman started his final round with back-to-back gains, picked up further shots on the fifth and ninth and then holed from six feet on the ninth to reach 15 under par.

In low-scoring conditions at Gullane, that left the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters winner one ahead of South African Trevor Immelman and overnight leader Jens Dantorp.

Dantorp's fellow Swede Alexander Bjork, American Rickie Fowler, New Zealand's Ryan Fox, England's Aaron Rai, Belgian Thomas Pieters, German Marcel Siem and South African pair Dean Burmester and Brandon Stone were two off the pace at 13 under on a bunched leaderboard.
