Alex Noren turned in 30 to open up a two shot lead on a low scoring second day of the Turkish Airlines Open.
The Swede's last two victories have come in Rolex Series events and he goes in search of a hat-trick to boost a season that has not seen him record a top ten on the 2019 Race to Dubai.
He made five birdies on the front nine at The Montgomerie Maxx Royal to get to 11 under and lead the way from Belgian Thomas Detry, South African Justin Harding, Scot Robert MacIntyre, Australia's Jason Scrivener and England's Danny Willett.
Overnight leader Matthias Schwab had fallen one shot behind a fast starting Kurt Kitayama when he teed off but he put an incredible second to eight feet on the par five first for an opening eagle to reclaim the lead at nine under.
He was joined by Harding who was another fast starter, holing a monster putt for eagle on the par five fourth to go with a birdie on the third and a hat-trick from the sixth as he turned in 29.
Noren could not take advantage of the first but he almost made an ace on the par three second and then holed from 18 feet on the next.
A two putt birdie on the fourth had him in a share of the lead and when he played a wonderful second from the rough to ten feet at the sixth, he was the first player of the week into double figures.
Harding dropped a shot on the tenth and Schwab bogeyed the fifth, as Willett made a big move to nine under.
The 2016 Masters Tournament winner sandwiched birdies on the first and fourth with a nice approach to the third and holed from seven feet on the seventh.
Scrivener then joined Willett as he added a birdie on the tenth to gains on the first, fourth, sixth and ninth but that move was dwarfed by that of MacIntyre.
The rookie turned in 34 on the scoreable back nine but then made three birdies in a row from the first. A long putt on the fifth edged him closer and a six footer at the next had him at nine under.
Noren put a stunning approach to the ninth inside three feet to lead by two but the group at nine under continued to swell.
Harding picked up a shot on the 13th, while Detry had birdies on the first, second, fourth, ninth and tenth to go with a bogey on the eighth.
Patrick Reed and Shubhankar Sharma were both seven under for their rounds to sit at eight under alongside Schwab and Ross Fisher.
