Robert MacIntyre is determined not to be overawed when he fulfils his "dream" by playing at the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club.
MacIntyre has taken to the European Tour with ease, barely missing a cut in 17 events since graduating from the European Challenge Tour last year with a top 15 finish in his maiden campaign as a professional.
The 22-year-old recorded top 15 finishes in just his third and fourth European Tour appearances - at the South African Open hosted by the City of Johannesburg and Alfred Dunhill Championship respectively - before coming even closer to a first title in May.
He finished tied for second at the Betfred British Masters before sealing a solo runner-up spot the following week at the Made in Denmark presented by FREJA to cap a stellar start to his rookie campaign.
The Oban native's record on home soil during his amateur career is also impressive, where he became the first player to win the Scottish Youths’ Championship and Scottish Boys’ Open Strokeplay Championship in the same year.

He will hope he can continue his upward trajectory in North Berwick, but will have to keep his nerves in check as he plays his opening two rounds alongside four time Major Champion Rory McIlroy and 2015 winner Rickie Fowler.
"I'm just going to have to try and play my own game," MacIntyre said. "There has been quite a bit of hype but I'll try and keep it as low key as I can. To be in the Scottish Open is a dream.
"I've watched 'scopes' for years so to be here now, competing, is very special.
"Well, I've got to be thrown in at the deep end at some point I suppose (playing with McIlroy and Fowler). I'm going to learn from this. It's another step in the learning experience for me. In my first year, I've had quite a few already and this is going to be another one.
"Obviously the nerves are going to be big on the first tee and the driving range, but I'm sure once we get going, we'll be all right.
"It's going to be another special week, not just for me but my family as well. They will be back home watching it. To be out with them in your first Scottish Open is pretty special."
MacIntyre will see one of his dreams become a reality at the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open, but the left-hander will also play out another as he makes his Major Championship bow at Royal Portrush next week.
"I just think it's what you've dreamed of as a little kid," he added. "Next week is going to be unbelievable, as well.
"But for me, the Scottish Open is the one I've always wanted to win. I have plenty of energy just now, so no problem with that.
"I'm sure the crowds are going to be unbelievable. Home soil for the first time is going to be something different.
"Playing The Challenge Tour was good but the crowds were small. So to finally play a Scottish Open is something I'll never forget."
