Joe Dean made his BMW PGA Championship debut this week after ten months that have changed his life completely.
He came through the Qualifying School last November but did not tee it up until the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters in February due to the financial demands of life on tour and upon returning from the Middle East, he went back to his job delivering groceries for Morrisons.
Everything changed at the Magical Kenya Open, as a tie for second not only swelled his coffers but his confidence and since then he has missed just one cut, lost out in a play-off at the KLM Open and picked up a few fans along the way with the help of his penchant for not warming up and his use of a hypnotherapist.
Now, sat 33rd on the Race to Dubai Rankings in Partnership with Rolex and with the DP World Tour Play-Offs and potentially a PGA TOUR card in his sights, he has made his Rolex Series debut at the BMW PGA Championship.
On Thursday, we followed the Englishman and two friends as he played his first competitive round at Wentworth Club.
