Wu hits the front in Spijk

Wu Ashun made two birdies in his first four holes to open up a one-shot lead as the final round of the KLM Open got under way at The Dutch.

The Chinese entered the day a shot behind England's Chris Wood but gains on the second and fourth helped him leapfrog the overnight leader and get to 14 under.

Wood played his first four in level par to sit at 13 under, two shots clear of Scot David Drysdale, Japan's Hideto Tanihara and Englishman Jonathan Thomson.

Wood bogeyed the first after finding the sand to make it a four-way tie for the lead but Wu's approach to the second was inside three feet and he was the solo leader.

A response was needed from Wood and he produced one straight away, putting his second to the second to five feet for a bounceback birdie.

Thomson dropped a shot on the second and fell two shots off the lead alongside Drysdale who had birdied the third.

Wu had found his range and he hit an excellent tee-shot into the par three fourth and rolled home from 15 feet to get back in front.

Tanihara then slipped into the group at 11 under after finding sand off the tee on the fourth.

Belgian Thomas Detry, Welshman Bradley Dredge, Ireland's Padraig Harrington and Englishman Richard McEvoy were at ten under.
