Former Walker Cup star Gary Wolstenholme holds the 18-hole lead at the Shipco Masters promoted by Simon's Golf Club qualifer, with the top five golfers set to earn places at the inaugural Staysure Tour tournament in June.
The top five golfers after Tuesday's final round will earn their spots at the first Staysure Tour event in Denmark in more than a decade.
Wolstenholme, who is the all-time points scorer for the GB&I Walker Cup side, carded the lowest round of the day, a one under par 71, at Simon's Golf Club.
The Englishman, a three-time winner on the Staysure Tour, made the turn level par and then birdied the 14th hole to move one stroke ahead of compatriots Peter Scott and Mark Wharton.
Rounding out the top five are American Zeke Martinez and England's Peter Wilson who share fourth place on one over par.
Denmark's Søren Telling and England's Jonathan Cheetham, Steve Cipa and David Ray are one shot further back on two over par.
