• His first European Tour International Schedule victory in his 83rd official European Tour event.

• Moves to 2,099,908 points in the Race to Dubai.

• Could move into the top 35 of the Official World Golf Ranking, from 53rd.

• This victory beats his previous best European Tour performances of second in the 2016 Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open and tied second in the 2014 Joburg Open.

• Becomes the 13th first-time winner of the season. They are: They are Nathan Holman (Australian PGA Championship), Marc Leishman (Nedbank Golf Challenge), Brandon Stone (BMW SA Open hosted by City of Ekurhuleni), Haydn Porteous (Joburg Open), Andrew Johnston (Real Club Valderrama Open de España hosted by the Sergio Garcia Foundation), Soomin Lee (Shenzhen International), Li Hao-tong (Volvo China Open), Jeunghun Wang (Trophée Hassan II), Chan Shih-chang (King’s Cup presented by PTT Group), Jimmy Walker (US PGA Championship), Paul Peterson (D+D REAL Czech Masters), Brandt Snedeker (Fiji International) and Tyrrell Hatton (Alfred Dunhill Links Championship).

• Becomes the second consecutive first-time winner, following Brandt Snedeker (Fiji International).

• Following on from Brandt Snedeker winning the Fiji International, becomes the third time this season that the European Tour has witnessed two first-time winners on the same day. The first two sets of winners were: Marc Leishman (Nedbank Golf Challenge) and Nathan Holman (Australian PGA Championship), then Chan Shih-chang (King’s Cup presented by PTT Group) and Jimmy Walker (US PGA Championship).

• Victory comes in his third appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

• This victory beats his previous best finish in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship of tied 103rd in 2014.

• Becomes the first English winner of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship since Oliver Wilson in 2014.

• Follows Lee Westwood (2003), Nick Dougherty (2007), Simon Dyson (2009), David Howell (2013) and Oliver Wilson (2014), as English winners of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

• Follows Stephen Gallacher (2004) and Oliver Wilson (2014), as players to make the Alfred Dunhill Championship their first European Tour victory.

• Becomes the seventh official English victory of the 2016 season. • Becomes the 308th English victory in European Tour history.

• Becomes the 94th different Englishman to win on the European Tour.

• His total of 265 (-23) equals the lowest winning total in the history of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and the lowest winning total in relation to par, set by David Howell in 2013.

• His 72 hole winning total in relation to par of 23 under is the lowest of the 2016 European Tour season. This beats the 22 under par by Li Haotong (Volvo China Open) and Francesco Molinari (Italian Open).

• His final 36 hole total of 128 (-16) matches the lowest final 36 hole total of the 2016 European Tour season, set by Robert Karlsson (Porsche European Open). His 16 under par for his last 36 holes in the lowest of the 2016 season. This beats the 14 under of Karlsson in the Porsche European Open and Li Haotong in the Volvo China Open.

• Led by three shots going into the final round. Becomes the 23rd winner this season to lead with 18 holes to play.

• Becomes the 15th different winner of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

• Of those 15 winners, ten have now been from Great Britain.

• Gains his largest European Tour prize of €711,073.

• Gains a European Tour exemption until the end of the 2018 season.

• Gains his second victory as a professional.
