·This victory beats his previous best 2015 European Tour performance of tied fourth in the Alfred Dunhill Championship.

·Becomes the fourth first-time winner of the 2015 season. They are: Andy Sullivan (South African Open Championship Hosted by the City of Ekurhuleni), Gary Stal (Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship), Anirban Lahiri (Maybank Malaysian Open) and Trevor Fisher Jnr (Africa Open).

·Becomes the newest South African winner on The European Tour since George Coetze (2014 Joburg Open).

·Victory comes in his sixth appearance in the Africa Open, since the event became part of The European Tour in 2010.

·This victory beats his previous best performance in the Africa Open of tied fourth in 2010.
