• Becomes the first English winner of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship since Robert Rock in 2012.
• Becomes the fourth English victory in the history of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship. They are: Paul Casey (2007 and 2009), Robert Rock (2012) and Tommy Fleetwood (2017).

• Began the final day one stroke behind 54-hole leader Tyrrell Hatton. Is the second winner of the 2017 European Tour season to make a final round comeback. Harold Varner III was the first this season, making up two shots at the Australian PGA Championship.
• Becomes the second consecutive English winner on the European Tour, following Graeme Storm (BMW SA Open hosted by City of Ekurhuleni).
