- His fourth European Tour International Schedule victory in his 159th official European Tour event.

- Moves into joint second place in the current list of most consecutive winning years on the European Tour by active players, with three, dating back to the 2014 season. He moves alongside Jason Day, Rory McIlroy and Thongchai Jaidee. Justin Rose leads this list, with four consecutive winning years.
- Dating back to the 2012 season has now won a European Tour event in four of the past five seasons. In 2012 he won his first title, at the Sicilian Open. (Since 2012 the only year he did not win was in 2013).
- Becomes the second Dane to win a European Tour event for three consecutive European Tour seasons. Thomas Bjørn was the first Danish player to achieve this feat, when he won between 1998-2000. (He went onto extend that record to five years, up to the 2002 season).
- Victory comes in his fourth appearance in the Turkish Airlines Open.
- This victory beats his previous best finish in the Turkish Airlines Open of tied 29th in 2013.

- Maintains his 100% winning record of claiming all four of his European Tour titles when leading going into the final 18 holes. Led by seven shots after 54 holes in the Turkish Airlines Open. Led by three shots going into the final round of all three of his previous European Tour victories, 2015 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, 2014 ISPS HANDA Perth International and 2012 Sicilian Open.
- Becomes the 26th winner this season to triumph when leading after 54 holes.
- His seven shot lead after 54 holes is the biggest in the history of the Turkish Airlines Open, beating that of Victor Dubuisson in 2013, who led by five. (His six shot leading margin after 36 holes matches the biggest in this event, set by Ian Poulter in 2014).
- His three shot winning margin is the biggest in the history of the Turkish Airlines Open, beating the two strokes of Victor Dubuisson in 2013.
