Paul Lawrie celebrates victory in Andalucia

• His sixth European Tour International Schedule victory in his 472nd European Tour event.

• Moves to €205,939 in the Race to Dubai.

• His first European Tour victory since the 2002 Celtic Manor Wales Open – a gap of eight years and 228 days. This is his largest gap between victories of his European Tour career.

• In that time he has played in 232 European Tour events between victories.

• Since his 2002 victory has finished second six times, that last being the 2008 Portugal Masters.

• This victory beats his previous 2011 performance of tied 19th in the Commercialbank Qatar Masters presented by Dolphin Energy.

• Has now won five of his six European Tour titles when leading or sharing the lead going into the final round. (The 1999 Open Championship was the only event he made up a final round deficit, of ten shots, to equal the largest final round comeback in European Tour history).

• Aged 42 years and 85 days becomes the oldest winner in the history of the event, beating the previous record of Carl Mason in 1994, who was 40 years and 247 days.

• Aged 42 years and 85 days is the oldest winner on the 2011 European Tour and oldest winner on The European Tour since Miguel Angel Jiménez, who was 47 at the 2010 Omega European Masters.

• This event is the first European Tour event he has led going into the final round since the 2005 Estoril Open de Portugal, before finishing second.

• First Scot to win on The European Tour since Richie Ramsay at the 2010 South African Open Championship.

• The 127th Scottish victory in European Tour history.

• His second European Tour victory in Spain, following his debut win at the 1996 Open Catalonia.

• Second Scot to win the Open de Andalucia, following Andrew Oldcorn in 1993.

• The tenth different winner of the event from the ten stagings of the tournament.

• Gains a European Tour exemption until the end of the 2012 season.
