• His 18th  European Tour International Schedule victory in his 535th European Tour event

• Third victory of the 2010 season, following the Omega Dubai Desert Classic and Alstom Open de France

• First player to win three times on the 2010 European Tour International Schedule. This is the second time in his career he has won three or more times in a single season, following the 2004 season, when he recorded four victories. First European player since Paul Casey in 2006 to win three times in a single season

• First victory in the Omega European Masters in his 22nd consecutive appearance. This performance beats his previous best of second in 1993 and 2004

• Eleven of his 18 European Tour wins have now  come whilst  in his 40s, which extends his record for most wins on The European Tour by a player in their 40s

• Becomes the eighth oldest winner in European Tour history, aged 46 years and 243 days

• Becomes the oldest winner of the Omega European Masters, beating Eduardo Romero, who was 46 and 55 days in 2000

• Fifth Spanish victory of the 2010 European Tour International Schedule. They are:  Pablo Martin (Alfred Dunhill Championship), Miguel Angel Jiménez (Omega Dubai Desert Classic, Alstom Open de France and Omega European Masters) and Alvaro Quiros (Open de Espãna)

• Follows Manuel Piñero (1976, 81), Seve Ballesteros (1977, 78, 89), José Maria Olazábal (1986) and Sergio Garcia (2005) as Spanish winners of the Omega European Masters

• Moves to €1,661,661 in The Race to Dubai

• Moves to just outside the top 25 in the Official World Golf Ranking
