• His ninth European Tour International Schedule victory in his 100th European Tour event.
• Moves to Number two in the Official World Golf Ranking. This marks the first time since 1993 that European golfers have been one and two, with Lee Westwood at one and Kaymer two. The last time this occurred was in July 1993 with Sir Nick Faldo was at one and Bernhard Langer at two.
• Makes a successful defence of his Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship; his first title he has won in back-to-back years on The European Tour.
• Becomes the third player in just five events in the 2011 season to make a successful defence, following Pablo Martin (Alfred Dunhill Championship) and Charl Schwartzel (Joburg Open). This marks the first time since 2000 when three different players have successfully defended a European Tour title. They were: Darren Clarke (English Open), Tiger Woods (US PGA Championship and WGC – Bridgestone Invitational) and Lee Westwood (European Open).
• Has now won the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship three times; 2008, 2010 and 2011. Was also second in 2009.
• For his last 16 rounds over the Abu Dhabi course (dating back to the 2008 season) the German is 80 under par.
• Has extended his record of consecutive rounds under par over this course to 12, dating back to round one in 2009.
• Has amassed €937,560 in this event since 2008.
• His 72 hole winning aggregate of 264 (-24) is the lowest winning total and in relation to par, beating Paul Casey (2009) and Kaymer himself in 2010 of 267 (-21).
• Established a new record for the largest winning margin of eight strokes in the event, beating his own record of four in 2008.
• His victory by eight strokes is the largest winning margin of the 2011 season, beating the four by Schwartzel at the Joburg Open.
• His winning margin of eight strokes is the biggest on The European Tour since Damian McGrane won by nine at the 2008 Volvo China Open.

• Went the 72 holes with just one bogey which came at the par four third hole in round one. First player to win a European Tour with only one dropped shot since Tiger Woods at the 2002 WGC – CA Championship.
• Aged 26 years and 25 days becomes the third youngest player in European Tour history to win the same event three times; following Sir Nick Faldo (23 years and 311 days when winning his third PGA Championship in 1981) and Tiger Woods (25 years and 239 days when winning his third WGC – Bridgestone Invitational in 2001).
• Has won four of his last eight European Tour events since the 2010 US PGA Championship, winning €2,400,765 in the process.
• Becomes the 12th different player in European Tour history to win the same event three or more times.
• Became the 32nd different player to successfully defend a European Tour title.
• Becomes the first player in European Tour history to win on their first appearance of the season on three occasions; all in Abu Dhabi, in 2008, 2010 and 2011.
• Joins Ernie Els (1994, 2002 and 2005 Omega Dubai Desert Classic) as the only other player to win the same Middle East event three times.
• Becomes the quickest player to earn over €10 million in European Tour Official Career Earnings, in just 100 events, beating the previous record of Sergio Garcia who took 111 events to pass the €10 million mark in 2007.
• Wins for a fourth consecutive European Tour season, equaling the current record for most consecutive winning years, set by Alvaro Quiros and Ross Fisher.
• The fifth of his nine wins have now come when he has led or shared the lead going into the final round.
• The 61st German victory in European Tour history.
