• Becomes the third multiple winner of the 2016 European Tour season. They are: Charl Schwartzel (Alfred Dunhill Championship and Tshwane Open), Danny Willett (Omega Dubai Desert Classic and Masters Tournament) and Jeunghun Wang (Trophée Hassan II and AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open).

• Victory comes in his second appearance in the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open.

• Victory beats his previous best finish in the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open of tied 67th in 2015.

• Becomes the first Asian to win back-to-back European Tour events.

• Aged 20 years and 251 days days becomes the youngest player to win consecutive European Tour events, beating the previous record of Seve Ballesteros, who was 21 years and 119 days in 1978.

• Becomes the 34th different player to win back-to-back European Tour events.

• Becomes the youngest player to win his first two European Tour events since Matteo Manassero, who was 17 years and 363 days when he won his second title at the 2011 Maybank Malaysian Open.

• Follows Matteo Manassero, Sergio Garcia, Seve Ballesteros, Sir Nick Faldo and José María Olazábal, as players to win their first two official European Tour events before their 21st birthday.

• Becomes the fifth Asian winner of the 2016 European Tour season. This is a record for a single European Tour season. They are: SSP Chawrasia (Hero Indian Open), Soomin Lee (Shenzhen International), Li Haotong (Volvo China Open) and Jeunghun Wang (Tropheée Hassan II and AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open).

• Becomes the fifth different Asian to record multiple European Tour victories in the same season. He follows: Thongchai Jaidee, Kiradech Aphibarnrat, Jeev Milkha Singh and Anirban Lahiri.

• His third victory as a professional.
