• His first European Tour International Schedule victory in his 32nd European Tour event.

• Could move back into the top ten of the Official World Golf Ranking, from 21st.

• This victory beats his previous best European Tour performances of second in the 2011 US PGA Championship and second in the 2012 ISPS Handa Perth International. He was also tied second in the 2012 WGC – HSBC Champions.

• This victory beats his previous best 2013 European Tour performances of tied fourth in the US Open Championship and tied fourth in the WGC – Bridgestone Invitational.

• Becomes the eighth first-time winner of the 2013 season. They are: Scott Jamieson (Nelson Mandela Championship presented ISPS Handa), Chris Wood (Commercial Bank Qatar Masters), Matt Kuchar (World Golf Championships – Accenture Match Play Championship), Dawie Van Der Walt (Tshwane Open), Kiradech Aphibarnrat (Maybank Malaysian Open), Peter Uihlein (Madeira Islands Open – Portugal – BPI), Simon Thornton (Najeti Hotels et Golfs Open presented by Neuflize OBC) and Jason Dufner (US PGA Championship).

• His first Major Championship victory in his 19th Major Championship appearance.

• This victory beats his previous best Major Championship finish of second in the 2011 US PGA Championship when he lost in a play-off to Keegan Bradley.

• Victory comes in his fifth appearance in the US PGA Championship. (Apart from his second in 2011 was also tied fifth in 2010).

• This victory is his fifth career top five finish in Major Championships.

• Shot a course record of 63 in round two. Becomes the sixth player in Major Championship history to shoot a 63 and win the same Major. He would follow: Johnny Miller (1973 US Open Championship), Jack Nicklaus (1980 US Open Championship), Raymond Floyd (1982 US PGA Championship), Greg Norman (1986 Open Championship) and Tiger Woods (2007 US PGA Championship).

• Following Phil Mickelson at The 142nd Open Championship is the first time American players have won consecutive Major Champions since Bubba Watson (2012 Masters Tournament) and Webb Simpson (2012 US Open Championship).

• The 19th different player to win a Major Championship in the last 21 Majors. (Only Phil Mickelson and Rory McIlroy have recorded multiple wins).

• Dating back to Lucas Glover at the 2009 US Open Championship, 15 of the last 19 Major Championships have now been won by first-time Major winners.

• The fourth winner in the last five US PGA Championships to make this Major their first Major triumph. They are: Y E Yang (2009), Martin Kaymer (2010), Keegan Bradley (2011) and Jason Dufner (2013).

• The fifth time in the last six US PGA Championships that the winner has made up a final round deficit to win.

• The 15th time in the last 20 Major Championships that the winner has made up a final round deficit to win.

• Becomes the third player to win the US PGA Championship at Oak Hill’s East Course. He follows: Jack Nicklaus (1980) and Shaun Micheel (2003).

• The 133rd American victory on The European Tour.

• Becomes the 60th different American to win on The European Tour.

• The seventh American victory of the 2013 season. They are: Matt Kuchar (WGC – Accenture Match Play Championship), Tiger Woods (WGC – Cadillac Championship and WGC – Bridgestone Invitational), Peter Uihlein (Madeira Islands Open – Portugal – BPI) and Phil Mickelson (Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open and The 142nd Open Championship) and Jason Dufner (US PGA Championship).
